Converted Renault master van
hi there, first post, be gentle. Joined caravan club last year and stayed on some lovely sites with my old tourer. Unfortunately I'm not keen on towing and my partner can't always come with me due to work so it was hardly used.
This year iv sold it and have bought myself a converted panel van with a view to seeing how much use I will give it before entering into finance to buy a proper motor home .
My question is will me and dog be welcome on sites ? I'm a bit nervous thinking we might get dirty looks or worse be turned away from sites.

Our first camper van was a converted Mercedes Van which we did ourselves. With just a little support/help with the electrics and gas from professional where needed. As long as it meets all the safety requirements it will be fine! What's more was the interest and support fellow members gave us once on site! And yes, we had a dog too, just keep to the rules, they make sence! Just enjoy!

Hello, lor, and welcome.
My understanding is that as long as your van is properly converted with dedicated cooking, sleeping, storage etc there will be no problem. On the other hand, if you simply erect a camp bed in an unconverted van, CC wont like it.

Hi thanks for the prompt replies. Yes, it's properly converted with a full size double bed, toilet cubicle, fridge, sink and cooker, very comfortable but form outside just looks like a white van. So if I mention when booking and am happy to show inside I
should be ok?. It is insured as a camper van as well. Hoping to have first outing in a CL near Portpatrick in Scotland next week. Wish me luck.0 -
Hello and welcome to CT and hopefully to motorhoming ?. Good advice above, dogs should be welcome, on a lead and always 'tethered' outside the 'van, natural functions off site and accidents cleared immediately. Your vehicle shouldn't be an issue but there
will be some curiosity, we'd be interested if we were there. Generally were a friendly bunch and often glad to share experiences or knowledge.0 -
You'll be fine, lor. The golden rule is to consider other people, especially where dogs are concerned as not everyone is a dog lover.
Enjoy your trip.
