Keeping caravans warm?

I've been reading and enjoying the blogs from scarletsfan  about his travels in the north recently.  I wish our caravan was as warm and cozy.  We have a Senator Wyoming series 6 and our blown air heating never seems to get the caravan very warm.  I think it might be operator error though - any tips on where we might be going wrong?  We twiddle with the dials on the fire and the thermostat, but always end up using an additional fan heater to boost the temperature.
