Hello all, I have a 2010 Olympus 462 towed by a 2012 Passat TDi estate. the first time I towed it I thought it was nose-heavy, but I didn't really see it until I arrived on site. I checked it with my cheapo guage and it went over 110kg! For the trip back
I took one gas bottle out and relocated much stuff to the centre and slighly behind the axle. Slung cheapo gauge and bought a calibrated one, then went and checked the van. Bear in mind there's not much in the van I'm still nudging 100kg. It has a 6kg propane
half full (I make that approx 11kg) but almost everything else is back behind the axle by up to a metre or so. Loading the awning there has got it down to about 70 which is about where I want it (car max is 85). I know the gas bottle is bigger than average
but there is just the one ans so little else up front, so why the high reading empty?
