We bought one just under a year ago. Very little used, but, when the velcro tabs are correctly tightened to keep the kitchen rigid, the stitching started to break away.

The store were good enough to replace it with a new one.  However, when setting it up, the stitching is again subject to stresses which I think will eventually break away in similar fashion.

The Velcro tabs must be fully seciured to make the unit safe, as any collapse with hot appliances/hot food on the counter top could cause scalding.  I now have reservations about the Velcro tab method of securing rigidity, and am looking at devising a more
foolproof arrangement.
