Active Trailer Control (ATC)

I recently had my ATC indicator show RED. Following the trouble shooting guide, it did change back to constant GREEN.  But it has made me wonder about the status which says the caravan cannot be towed.    Allowing for all types of owners who have an ATC,
the instructions could be clearer, and including a diagramatic guide would be a step in the right direction.  In the worst scenario, a simple OFF switch would be even better.

On occasion, I have had cross wind/passing high vehicle sway the 'van possibly worse than our previous non-ATC van, (nothing to do with loading BTW).  This has caused me to wonder if the ESP on the tow car might be producing a counter effect.  Should the
car's ESP be switched off when towing an ATC-enabled caravan?  There is no mention in the Al-ko instructions about a tow car with ESP, yet this function is now common on most, if not all, modern cars.
