Solar panel control panel
Although I have many years of caravanning experience, I am totally new to solar panels.
Having had a motor mover fitted and the caravan being kept in open air storage, I fitted a 100 watt solar panel to the roof of the caravan so that the battery would not let me down when it came time use the mover. The battery is a 120 size,14 month old and
recently tested on a "drop meter" and found to be ok.
My question relates to the actual control panel functions which is correctly wired up including the purpose plug in the caravans wiring harness. My understanding is that the panel can be programmed to charge and provide solar power between 1 and 15 hours
after which it should shut off. Am I correct?
The panel indicates charging of the battery all daylight hours and also when "off" in the manual mode. The only time the "load" light is lit is at night.
Am I correct in suspecting that the control panel is defective and the battery is expected to be "cooked" by unnecessary charging?
thanking you
