Tow Bar Help - Winterhoff Stabiliser - Conversion?

Wonder if anyone could help? I purchased a Nissan Xtrail with a towbar already in situ and all looks well etc. I currently tow with my passat and recognise that the xtrail has a fixed flange towbar that i am told wont fit well with my Compass van and stabiliser
( winterhoff)

I have been looking at the net and wonder if its a simple job to unbolt the existing ball and source a 'deeper' necked version for the xtrail?

I am no expert ( my prevoius posts will testify) but wonder if its as simple as it seems? there are two bolts and a plate etc

I am conscious of turning distance and also wonder if i might need a spacer kit?

Cant seem to locate an defined answer or website with any help this morning
