Swift Mondial Battery/Mains Fridge
We own a 2010 Swift Mondial Rl, fitted with a Battery/Mains operated fridge and have had a constant problem with the fridge running constantly, or getting down to temperature, clicking off and then immediately clicking back on again when operating on the
leisure battery or mains. Of course, this is a source of annoyance at night, when the only way to silence the offending noise is to turn the fridge termostat down to 1 or 2 and hope that the ambient temparature does not cause the fridge to switch itself on.
The vehicle was returned to the retailers (Lowdham Caravans, Nottingham) serveral times, but no fault could be found. In the end, I wrote direct to the MD of Swift, Lowdham's and of course, the fridge manufacturers. This obtained almost instant results.
The vehicle was taken to Lowdham's Huddersfield, where their service manager, the Swift engineer, and refridgeration engineer all set to work to uncover the cuase for my complaint.
In conclusion, the finger had to be pointed at Swift for using low grade wiring when installing the fridge, which took Lowdham's the better part of a day to replace, but thankfully all is now well and we now get a peacful nights sleep , as well as waking
up to propperly chilled food in the fridge.
So, if any members has a Mondial, but only thos with a battery/mains only fridge, and it keeps running almost constantly, complain, and point out that Swift do know of this fault, but are un -willing to do a recall with regards to this fault.
