A family club??
Is this a family club where families are truly welcome, or one where they are tolerated?
We have just come back from a stay on a club site, Blackshaw Moor and from the off we were made to feel uncomfortable. Before we had even pitched we were given a lecture on bikes and bike riding from the overly officious warden. Closely followed by him running
up to us shouting that the kids had ridden down the hill against the arrow. They had not as they had been with us the whole time. I shudder to think what the reaction might have been if they had ridden on the grass!! Having read reviews of this site we are
not alone in this view.
The vast majority of the clientele on site were older couples and there was hardly any kids to be seen. I get the impression that this is just how the wardens like it and were quite happy for the bank holiday to be over so they had a nice quiet site back
Don't get me wrong I do not advocate kids being up till all hours, running amok, but we almost felt like they could not play and that we had to keep them quiet so as not to disturb folks In the middle of the day on a bank holiday weekend........ we have
a 6 and 3 year old, the same age as their friends we were with. So I am not calling for teenagers to be allowed to congregate etc, just for kids to be allowed to be kids.
We have just spent 3 weeks in France and they do not have as many rules on site, there were no issues and everyone enjoyed themselves. Kids were not an issue. So why not here???
