Thermal windscreen covers

As 'winter draws on' ! we are thinking about purchasing some of these covers to prevent condensation and keep out the cold.  My question is do we get the ones that go on the outside or the inside?  My gut feeling is that outside version is going to get very
wet and need drying every morning.  So - - help - - please!
