Volkswagen Tiguan factory fit retractable towbar

Hi, anyone any experience of using the (2013) Volkswagen Tiguan factory fit retractable towbar ?

I've just taken delivery of a new vehicle with this towbar. Although it looks like an impresssive bit of kit, at first inspection it does not seem to give the clearance required for an Alko stabiliser. The distance from the bumper to the ball is fine but
the distance from the centre of the ball to the shoulder of the integrated towball seems to be less than the 60mm specified. I've not actually tried hitching up yet but would welcome any comment.
