European Cover

I was considering joining the Mayday Cover for my motorhome after a flat battery earlier this year and the RAC patrolman we called out indicated that towing wasn't an option available for the motorhome. Fortunately I didn't need it. We are now planning a
trip to France and I went to the  Mayday (Green Flag) page to discover that they not do foreign breakdown cover so I opened the link to Red Pennant and got a quote. Now I know from reading reviews that Red Pennant is pretty bomb proof, but just a mite expensive
for a ten day tip to France. Eurotunnel insurance is cheaper but does not cover vehicles greater than 7 metres long. I then went to the Green Flag website and found that European travel is available and costs about the same for a year as ten days travel cover
insurance with Red Pennant.  I only go abroad once a year so I am not sure I need a whole years cover. I am not daft enough to want to go abroad without cover but at our age (74) it is getting to the stage where it is getting near to  the most expensive part
of the whole trip. If Green Flag covers European  travel why doesn't Mayday? Surely a one off supplement for say 30 days abroad would not be out of place.  Can anyone recommend reasonably priced cover elsewhere? I know that the Caravan Club wants us to have
the best but not all of us have bottomless pockets.
