Any ideas why rain puddles form on the awning roof

We have a brand new Dorema Octavia Size 15 awning, with 5 roof poles.  Everytime it rains the water does not run off but forms puddles between centre roof pole and the two extra support roof poles. Has anyone got/had a similar problem and how did you resolve
it.  Emails with Dorema make us feel this is a unique problem for us and that we are not getting enough tension on the sides. Try as we might we still get rain puddles.  We are experienced caravanners so have put up awnings before.
