i currently tow with one of the last of the old style XTrails bought new last year.

i was contacted by my local dealer to "invite" me to come along and have a look at the new  style XTrail. The conversation went along the lines of no thanks, I'm happy with my old model and Im not sure how efficient the new model with smaller engine and
lighter weight would be towing my van.

I'm not in the market to trade in yet, but then thought about the new xtrail and wondered if anyone on here had an opinion of how the two perform when towing? Has anyone changed from old style to new and what do you think? I would appreciate review from
a customer rather than a salesman telling me how great it is.
