Vauxhall Antara recall

If any caravanning friends have received a recall notice recently for their Vauxhall Antara to fix a faulty cooling fan module and not yet acted on it I'd reccomend you do so asap.

My 2.2 litre diesel Antara went in a couple of weeks ago for the job to be done and I was pleased yesterday to find that the fuel consumption has improved from 29mpg to 36 mpg since the work was done. I wonder if the faulty module was causing the fan to
cut in too early and overcooling the engine leading to greater fuel consumption. My driving style/vehicle use has not changed recently so I think the improvement must be connected with the recall work. The job takes up to a couple of hours.

Time to get the job done before the caravanning hols!
