Air Awning Rear poles
Hi people,
Very very pleased with our Dorema 260 all season,
However, as hard as I try I cannot get the rear poles to fit tight against the sponge pads and the van, how do you do this?
Please help, its really, really getting frustrated with the whole affair!

It's not likely that you will get a perfect seal , purely because of the nature of the construction . The method I use is as follows fit pole in position, but not frimly extended , fit ties to hold pole in position then push the bottom of the pole towards the van . Then with your foot holding it in position, extend the pole as much as you can , so that the point enters the ground , then tighten the clamp. You can hold the bottom in place by using a couple of rubber loops hooked on the pole & held in place with a couple of pegs . The main thing to remember is that it is still a piece of cloth pushed up tp the wall of the van , with a bit of sponge trapped by the length of a bendy aluminium pole , so whilst it should be reasonably watertight when you set up , everything can move during a strong side wind .

Although I bought a pair of poles when we got our Kampa air awning 18 months ago, I don't think I've used them yet. I find that if you peg the bottom of the awning slightly underneath the van, it pulls the pads tight against the van thereby giving a reasonably
good seal without need for the poles.0 -
Thanks for the advice guys,
The main problem is around the draft skirt rail, I know I'm not going to get it flush around that, maybe another piece of foam over the rail??

We have a Bradcot and they advised same technique as RA, then when it is sufficiently inflated to just stand up we insert the rear poles into position to push the cushions as tight as possible to the van body and tehn complete the inflation. Its not a perfect
airtight fit but is sufficient for our needs.0
