Has anybody got experiance with mains switching units, I very seldom use a mains hookup but I use a large inverter and I would like to wire it up to the mains system.

Here in Porugal with my 3 x 80 watt roof panels I have all the power I need so I would like to make use of the internal mains wiring that is in the MH.

Thanks for the info PeeDee, however I was looking for something less expensive and manual controlled, somthing like this: <125 amp changeover switch 240V mains to generator transfer single phase Din rail>

google that line and it will pull up the details.

    Once again, thanks

That shouldn't be too difficult to wire in. I have a manual change over system but it is controlled by a change over relay which is built into my Victron inverter. The relay is energised remotely from a button on my control panel. beyond that I have no idea of the ratings for the relay or the wiring detail.

Take the 240v output from your inverter socket and connect it to a mains flex fed into the back of your external mains input box. Fit a standard blue mains plug to the end of your flex and plug it into the van's mains inlet when off EHU.
