Seat belts in France

We have recently swapped our mid lounge motorhome with a forward facing rear seat with a belt, for a rear lounge version, which has side facing seats... No belts.

We are considering a week in France next month, and our 16 year old may decide to come with us.

Apart from the fact that we haven't got a clue where to go, we are not sure how we stand legally if our passenger sits in the rear on the side facing seats.

Does anyone know how we stand?

And any suggestions on where to visit gratefully received too.
