Pitch Pricing
Our first trip this year was to the Southport site where we stayed on the new section. here there is a fantastic new toilet block. Looking round the site you see a range of mostly modern caravans which generally have all the mod cons, hot and cold water,
showers etc. So if you have paid thousands for a van with all these facilities why do you need them on site. Of course there are many reasons and personal preferences. We also visited Gwer-Y-Bulch site which has no toilet block and it was full. So there are
mant people who are content with using their own facilities. Toilet blocks like the one at Southport must cost an absolute fortune to build and maintain, plus the day to day running costs must be very high. How much of the pitch price is allocated to to the
running cost of the toilet block? Many sites give you a key to access the toilet block.
So my suggestion is to reduce the pitch fees and charge extra to access to the toilet block. For example reduce the pitch and per head fees by £2.5. So for a couple that would be £7.5 less, then charge £7.5 for the toilet block key. Therefore charges are
the same as now for full access, but cheaper if you do not want to use the toilet block.
This may have the knock on effect of member requiring more super pitches instead of toilet blocks.
