Is Grangers Nylopruf Ok for cotton fabric Awnings?

I need to reproof my 20yr old awning. I have an unopened 1ltr can of Grangers Nylopruf which says on the label for ''Water repellent finish for nylon and synthetic fabrics'

I realise 'that' should give me a clue whats fabrics its for but wondered if anyone wiser than I has more idea. I know I can buy alternative from Grangers, just wanted to avoid uneccessary expense if possible.
