Trading up in 1st year

Just looking for people's experiences really.  I do quite like the fixed bed layout of the 2016 Lunar Quasar, it's such a shame they didn't do it earlier this year when we were looking.

If it were a car I'd not dream of trading for at least 2 years, my question is has anyone got experience of trading up in such a short period of time? If you have how painful was it financially?
