Just had our Van over 8 months were new to caravanning, had van out over Easter weekend and discovered shower tray is cracked around the lipped edge. Van is a Swift Challenger 490L, 2005. Just wondered if anybody has any experience of this problem and best
way to get it fixed and cost involved.

on our privoius van it cracked on the bottom part, The dealer said they could replace the tray or just fill in the crack with some waterproof pollyfiller. As it was then an older van we just had the pollyfiller, and it cost a few pounds but didn't match the existing colour and looked a bit well pollyfilled but we would be theonly ones to see it. The replacemnet shower tray was about £130 the most of which was labour costs

Post edit - if they can find a tray to match yours?

I have this on my Amazon ist, just in case:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FL8NJ6I/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=30IN8HN1379P1&coliid=I1IRJCAORNYUKK

BUT, I'd also consider injecting some expanding foam or similar to try to support the tray as I suspect flexing will cause the cracking and unless that is reduced, nothing will work. This would be a try but if it didn't work, the alternative is a LOT more expensive?

There are firms that offer to do this as a service e.g.

    http://speedcoateuro.com/

Plus loads of other links if you Google "cracked shower tray" or similar.

I'm watching with interest. I discovered a cracked tray in my 2002 Lunar .... needless to say that a new tray is unavailable even if I wanted one. Been quoted £425 by a plastic shower specialist repair Wink which
is far more than I'm prepared to pay considering the 'vans age

I have used waterproof duck tape and it was never a problem. Just be generous with it.

I was considering making a stainless plate to go over the crack and glueing in in place with Tigerseal (It sticks like the proverbial to a blanket ...... only better Laughing)

Thanks for all the suggestions. Been in touch with a couple of plastic repairers and looks like they can fix it. Smile
