Overnight stay S.Wales to Lake District?

Our first major (long) trip with a caravan, travelling from Cardiff to the CC Troutbeck Head site in Cumbria. With just a car I'd leave early on Sunday morning and do the whole thing in one go, but my wife feels that may a rather long tiring journey with
the caravan in tow. She feels we should leave late Saturday afternoon and have an overnight stop. I guess the motorway services are an option (are they???) but can anyone recommend a site just off the M5/M6, with easy access to the motorway system just for
one night stop / early start Sunday. Many thanks.
