Advice about stabiliser

Picking up our first caravan next week, a 2004 swift challenger 490 and I'm having a tow bar fitted this week to my Crv.

The caravan has an alko hitch but no stabiliser fitted, just the shiny silver hitch.   Do I need a stabiliser fitting? If so do I go for a snake master or an alko one.  If Alko do I need a whole new setup on my caravan?  Can I buy a used one and change it
myself or do I need a very don type size?
