Movers and new tyres.

If you have new tyres fitted on your caravan check the spacing between tyre and mover drive 'wheel.'

I found my Powrtouch Evolution slipping badly whilst trying to move my van onto a levelling ramp. I checked the spacing - 35mm on N/S and 30mm on O/S when it should be 19mm!! I rang PT who advised adjustment is quite simple - needs one 17mm spanner and a
piece of wood as a spacer, and takes about 30mins to do both.

They have an app to download which will give you pdf files for almost anything you might need to do on the assembly.

I know the paperwork says that any DIY work will nullify the warranty, but presumably as they give you the tools to do the job this no longer applies.

Not sure adjustment they suggest is a problem. It is when people start taking it apart they get shirty.

Must be a darn sight easier with a Powrtouch than a Truma then!

Took me half a day, a lot of cursing and the skin from several knuckles to adjust mine.

Why not just buy the tyres from the dealer and get them to adjust the mover at the same time?

Suppose they might be a tad more expensive than at Kwik Fit but then they will (probably) be put on properly and not have jacks stuck under the floor.

Write your comments here...You only have to slacken the mounting off after moving the stops along.  Powrtouch Guarantee DIY fitted rollers for 5 years .So cant be a problem to adjust gaps yourself .  We've just had PT Evolutions fitted to our van . Caravan chap used a 3/8 impact wrench to tighten everything up ,that made real short work of it . I used a 3/8 drive ratchet to remove old ones . Suggest you do the same Using a 17mm spanner would be so labourious, and tiring . If you get a lenght of 19mm sq wood or metal about 10 ins long and tape it to rollers you can just push the slackened off assembly hard against the tryre and lock them up again . You dont even have to jack a wheel up . Ask if you want any clarification ,I'm not good at explaining .
