Transport for long distance walks
We saw an entry from Oneputt on page 56 in the Feb CC magazine. Planning to walk the South Downs Way, he thought that they would probably need to take two cars. Not a bit of it!!!! We have done many long distance walks using our caravan as a base. Each day
we drive our car to the END of the planned walk, and use public transport to get us back to the START.
This way we have the assurance that our car will be just where we need it at the end of the day. Of course you do need to plan your walk sections carefully so that they tie in with bus stops or train stations.
Very occasionally we have had to resort to a morning taxi (in more remote areas) but this has worked out cheaper than taking two cars...not to mention doing away with the hassle of all the shuttling back and forth at both ends of the day
