UK ACSI sites

We may use our ACSI card and stay at one of these sites before catching a ferry. Can someone enlighten me as to how the Euro rate shown in the book is converted to £ please. Does it vary from site to site? Is there a set benchmark the site must use and can
you actually pay them in Euros?

    The consensus seems to be, when this question has been asked in the past, is that the campsite generally converts the euro price to sterling.

    I'm sure I've read a post by someone on here (?Harryb - but not 100% sure on that) who has used the card in the UK and the amount was converted from € to £ using the exchange rate of the day.

    I don't think I would be particularly bothered as long as they honoured the reduced price.

    Whe would they pay to be in the book and to be inspected and then not want the business? I believe the annual charge is around 1000 Euros.

    Write your comments here...In my opinion it is a pity that you did not quote some of the information that you read, for example  at which particular site or sites this attitude was shown. Sorry, but  I think that without such  then the comment is of no value. Examples of sites where staff have poor attitudes can be useful.

    I have only ever used the ACSI card at one site in Britain - Coften Country Holiday Park near Dawlish and the staff could not have been further removed from what you read

    Please don't take offence at what I have posted. If you have some details of sites where people have experienced the attitude you described I would find that information interesting.

    Never had that experience either in UK or Europe, and we are, I would say, prolific ACSI users.

    We stayed for 5 nights on an ACSI site last September in Oxfordshire listed in the handbook at 18 Euros. I was expecting the nightly charge to be close to £13, bearing in mind the exchange rate at the time - but it was £15. It didn't bother me as it was
    a nice site with great electronic sensor showers and a short walk to the Thames and to a Waitrose. Free wi-fi too. The owners looked more than happy to accept an ACSI card. We will definitely try another UK ACSI site at that sort of price.

    Yes, it was me Ina and you are dead right. The book price was €14 and I think I paid £10.50 per night. The site was delighted with the uptake of people using ACSI unfortunately I  note that this year the price has jumped to €19 but even at todays rates that
    equates to less than a CL price,
