Why have a friend or five in Solos!
Pippa had joined us at Warwick Racecourse for the Solos meet arrange there for this weekend.
This morning Pippa went out on a bike ride with her two dogs, after about a mile, things went wrong and Pippa, her bike and bth her dogs ended up in the canal. No one saw what happened and Pippa doesn't recall any of today's events.
Pippa is still in hospital after under going scans, X-rays, blood tests etc. I have spent since 1 pm to 7.30 with her, Steve ( trucker Steve) joined me at 5.30 awaiting the arrival f her son in London.
Kim, Elaine and Jill Collected the bike and dogs, getting them back to the site and settled the dogs down, whilst Steve was doing the driving for me, whilst I stayed with Pippa in the hospital.
Pippa is now laughing about what has happened, but can not recall how she ended up in the canal, or hospital!
One thing her son said to me was thank goodness his Mum had friends around her to comfort her and make sure she had nothing to worry about at a crucial time.
So, Solos at Warwick has highlighted the need for a friend if not friends on site. We took control of everything possible that we could, we all pulled out weight to make sure Pippa was comfortable in knowing her dogs were cared for, her bike returned safe,
dry clothes delivered for Pippa in hospital, we even contacted her son to inform him what had happened. Until her son arrived this evening to take control, we even had plans in place to get Pippas car and caravan home, ( she lost the car keys in the canal)
plusAA solo offered to take her home when discharged from hospital.
