Map Search of UK Sites on CC web site

Is it me or does this not work correctly any more.  You only seem to be able to search by site name.  Or if you click on the clear button by pre-defined regions.  You used to be able to enter a town/city and find the nearest sites which I used all the time.
 I cannot get on with the map & book as I have no idea about counties (as do not live on main land UK) which when looking for cl's is the only way to do it.  Am I missing something here as the book, map and laptop nearly went for a fly across the room
