Just sat in my van and noticed a couple inspecting the pitch opposite me.They walked away and left a sign saying "pitch occupied".I was a little puzzled as I couldn't see a motor home or van but around 20 mins later one of them returned exclaiming "change
of plan" and walked off with their sign.i realised that they had put the sign there to stop others choosing the spot whilst they drove around the site looking for a better spot.some might think this is using your initiative. I personally think it's dishonest
.We all get to our sites wishing for a good spot but tricking other members into thinking a pitch is taken when it clearly isn't is low.
