VW Passat as Towcar

This is my first post on the forums but just looking for some advice around changing my towcar.



I'm changing my vauxhall insignia 2.0 litre diesel 163bhp. The final two cars for consideration are the VW Passat CC 2.0 TDI 140 with the DSG box. Or the new Passat 2.0 TDI 150 again with DSG box. In addition to this both engines are available with increased
BHP and I was wondering if anyone had any experience towing with one of these or any of the other VW group cars with the DSG gearbox? I'd also be interested to hear any views on wether the additional BHP (and cost) is really required. I tow a 2014 Luna Ultima
564 which I think weighs in at about 1400kg
