Oh well, best laid plans.....
Should be enjoying our van in Cornwall at moment, but stopped overnight for a break, only to get call from home, Dad rushed into hospital. First time anything like this ever happened to me, and it's such a shock. We packed up (luckily not towing) and shot
home to find him very ill, but getting good care. OH a trooper, said and did all the right things to keep me from getting too stressed.
Have to say that having a large hospital close by where we live, particularly as it seems to have a good reputation, is very much
not something to take for granted. So easy to visit, and this keeps us reassured that he is doing well. I have had personal experience of being taken ill in SW, and touring doctors, clinics, and hospitals on a Sunday trying to get pain relief
is no joke. Must be a nightmare for locals at height of tourist season when roads gridlocked, and al you want to do is see your loved ones. For us, as we think about moving to where we want to retire, definately something to mull over.
