Supermarkets are a bore, department stores such as JL and Debenhams are little better, but independent shops can be absolutely marvellous, and a joy to browse around and find that little something that you really cannot do without!

Travelling the length and breadth of this island, we have come across some truly wonderful examples of smallish businesses, some are truly niche, dependant upon one or two select range of products, others are like an Aladdins Cave, and sell all sorts of
marvellous niknaks and must haves!

Couple to share if anyone is holidaying near Chagford in Devon, this tiny village, which must get cut off in bad weather has not one, but two ironmongery cum general stores selling everything but food!

I like browsing in Saddleries and Chandleries as well!

Lets hear it for the important independents, and share our favourite little shops!
