I have put this in GC, because it is a question to long standing members, rather than about touring.

Can anyone recall if this has even been a site run by the CC? 

Back in the mid 80's, we visited Hexham and I can remember driving onto this site, with a view to staying. We didn't, which is another story, but I have an inkling that all those years ago it may have been a CC site. It certainly isn't now, very much a commercial
site, but just wondered if anyone with a long memory can help?
