Transit Carioca 200 - no air con. Do I need it?

Upgrading my van and this 2011 Ford Transit Carioca 200 seems to tick all the boxes, except one. It has no air conditioning. Why does an excellent van like this not have air con? I will be travelling Europe, France and Spain. I am totally baffled, can anyone
advise me what I should do based on your experiences. Thanks, David.
