VW Touran rear parking sensor problem

We recently bought a VW Touran from a private dealer and had a new towbar fitted. It has twin electrics with bumper deflector But I never realised the rear parking sensor would permanently come on when selecting reverse gear. Has anyone found a way of disabling/bypassing
the centre sensors or switching off the beeper? Hope somebody can help...thanks in advance :-)
