Swift Kitchen Sink Waste Pipes
My 2013 Challenger has now had the waste pipes under the kitchen sink become detatched 3 times, I have pushed the couplings back together each time but it is a job best suited to a gynaecologist given the lack of space in the cupboard.
As I am fed up with regular floods I have finally removed the whole lot from under the sink and pulled it out on the flexible hose that disappears through the floor. I discover that all the joints have a ring of adhesive around them. This adhesive shows
just how far the joints were pushed together (or how far they were NOT pushed together) and the way that it peels off of the pipes without a mark shows clearly that it is not the correct adhesive. I am assuming these pipes are "push fit" and NOT solvent weld
and with the whole assembly in my hand I can push them together really quite tightly. I come to re-assemble the system and the pipes are now obviously at least 20mm too short. This must create pressure to fall apart again. I will fit new pipe but I would
like to use an adhesive as well.
Does anyone have any advice on this problem or know of an adhesive that will work on these pipes?
