Just back from a lovely long weekend near Bridgnorth in our 2013 Challenger 580 SE.

I noticed while we were away that the water pump is now running as soon as a tap is turned on and stops running when it is turned off.  Previous to this outing I am sure that the pump used to run for some time after a tap was turned off and I assumed it
was pressurising a reservoir. Similarly the pump would not start for some time after a tap was turned on I assumed it would not run until the pressure in the reservoir was reduced.

The big question is which of the above is correct for my caravan.

Any suggestions welcome

You are right it normally runs for a few seconds after turning off to pressurise the system. if you look in the manual you can turn the pressure up a bit if you need to.  On our SWIFT we had I set the pressure so it ran for about 5 seconds after turning
the tap off and from memory the pump came on almost straight away.

On my swift (2013) the pump starts striaght away and the water flows straight away. The pump runs for a few perhaps 5 seconds after the tap is closed.

I’ve got a 2010 Swift Challenger with on board pump. When a tap is opened the pump comes on within a couple of seconds and carries on for three or four seconds once the tap is closed.

The pump on our 2012 swift challenger tends to run on for ages...
