VW Tiguan towing

I am going to buy a 2014 VW Tiguan, 2.0.ltr TDI, BMT 4 motion, 7 speed auto dsg gearbox, 177 hp diesel engine.  The vehicle comes standard with 7J x 17 inch alloy wheels 235/55 R17 tyres.  Is there any advantage to be had by spending £145 and uprating to
the sports suspension.  As an alternative one could uprate to the sports suspension and specify J7 x 18" alloy wheels with 235/50 R18 tyres or does anybody have experience of VW dinamic chassis control i.e. where one can select normal, comfort or sports suspension.
