gas cylinders and Europe

We are starting to plan our first foray to Europe in the new year with our motorhome which is equipped with 2 propane cylinders, normally enough for most trips and are easily replaced within the UK- are Gaslow refillable cylinders really the only viable
answer to a long trip. Any advice, experiences, etc would  be  appreciated.

I am sure that this question must have been asked many times before!
