safari/residence room height

Hi, I have found a second hand residence room for the omnistor awning on my hymervan. They are made in various heights to fit the height of the awning box from the ground.. All the articles I have read say measure to the bottom of the awning box to get the
right height. The one I have found is about 20cm to high. It is an XXL size. Does anyone know if they are adaptable or can be altered. The one I am looking at is a bargain so a small alteration, if it would work, would be acceptable.
