Removing Road Tar Specks

I have just spent the day getting the van ready and clean for a long weekend trip to The Mumbles in Wales, next weekend.  Half of my time today was spent rubbing away at the road tar specks that always pepper the van, during a road trip.

Has any club member out there got a sure-fire brand of product that he/she can reccomend, or perhaps can reccomend an own mixture that from experience, will make light work of this persistent problem?

There must be a truly efficient product on the market, that perhaps professional valeters use on vehicles.
