Ball Acting Stabiliser Pads.
My wife and I have just had our Bailey Unicorn Valencia undergo its annual service locally and which we are generally pleased with. Our model is a late 2010 model manufacture (registered Nov 2010) and which we purchased in June 2013, in very good condition.
We have only covered 1600 miles in the period of the van's ownership, ourselves. The service report advised the need of a set of hitch pads to be fitted. When we checked the owners' manual, the relevant section in the guide advises the life of the hitch
pads at 30,000 miles! The service report also advised the van's tyres as original 2010 dated and having 8 mm tread on both tyres remaining. As far as I am aware, car tyres (dependent on quality of tyre purchased) will give 8 mm to 10 mm of tread, when the
tyres are new. Although a personal judgement, the van is in very good condition and we would doubt if the van has covered more than 10,000 miles, maximum mileage, since new. It seems that the hitch pads have had to be replaced unusually early. Has any other
member or reader experienced the same problem and if so, is the cause known?
