Towing Electrics

Laughing Hi to all.

I'm just in the process of fitting a towbar to my vehicle, a 2009 Non-CAN equipped Vauxhall Combo Crew Cab. (Basically a Combo Tour without the rearmost glass) The towbar has gone on a treat but I decided to treat myself to Dedicated Vauxhall Electrics as
they aren't too expensive and I hate scotchlocks ! There are however, two kits available. One equipped with something called "Flashguard" and one without. The parts guy couldn't help me (even spoke to the central stores) so I am a bit stuck as to which parts
kit to order. It's been eons since I last had a towbar (I built my own, which I believe is illegal now?) so I'm a little bit out of touch with the wiring legalities. Do I undestand correctly that the law now states you must get some sort of a warning if the
lights on the towed vehicle are ineffective ? If so, does anyone know if the "flashguard" does that very thing ?

Thanks and Regards to anyone that can help.
