Hi Everyone

My name is Andrew and, together with my wife Ann, we are returning to caravanning after a 30 year gap.  Having just purchased a mint condition Avondale Dart 510/5 2007 in September we spent one night at Tredegar House Caravan Site last weekend in order to
get used to everything.  Apart from a few head scratches over the porch awning, an old but serviceable Bradcot Patio with conversion kit, we managed just fine.  The previous owner had colour coded the awning poles but it was the hidden break in the beading
that had us stumped for a while.  No doubt the old hands nearby were amused to see the sides of the awning floating 3 feet off the ground until we realized that one end of the roof came down the rear of the van and the other end came down the side.  Please
reassure me that some of you have been there In your early days!

Next stop is a week in Devon (Okehampton).  Hope to see some friendly faces on our travels over the next few years.

Hello to you Andrew and Ann and welcome to Club Together. I have this picture in my head of your porch awning flapping about - sorry.

Anyway, have a browse around the board and, if you have any questions, just post them in the appropriate section.

Look forward to reading about your adventures and how you think our hobby has changed during your gap.

Must be something about Avondale Darts. That was what I bought after a fifteen year break although only the 380/2

Welcome back to caravanning, Scowie, and to CT as well. I think that most of us have had trouble erecting an awing for the first time.

Welcome Scowie, Awnings are part of the fun of caravanning- Usually at the other persons expense. Sometimes you could sell tickets to the show! Welcome and happy caravanning
