We're having a towbar fitted to our new freelander 2 on Wednesday and have decided to got with the 13 pin socket even though our caravan has the double socket. I've bought one of these:

My question is, what is the circular disc for on top of the 13 pin socket and what are the metal loops for on the two 7 pin? No. Doubt it's obvious when you know!
