Whats the best way to locate awning roof poles

Whats best the clips that locate onto the awning internal cord, some have a screw to tighten into position and the newer ones just clip in place and allow you to hook your pole in place, also seen ones that locate into suckers that just stick to side of
your van, wonder which are the best to use, the clips can be a bit of a nuisance get in place, the suckers seem easier to fit. but which do you recommend?
