Could someone out the in Caravan land please recommend a CL around the St Ives

Hayle area of Cornwall please .

Also around  snowdonia , I would prefer a basic CL , but anything recommended would be welcome .

Thanks in advance ....

Wye, try Kestal Farm CL at St Hilary. Closer to South Coast of Cornwall, but easy four mile drive into Hayle using less busy roads. We have used it for last 15 years, nice owners, individual pitches, just basics including EHU. Great base for seeing whole
of Lizard and Lands End Area, plus easy access to A30 for getting out and about. Let me know if you want more information. That area is like our second home, we spend months at a time down there. (When I get the chance!)

Another suggestion is Churchtown Farm at Gwithian near Hayle, I can't recommend it personally but it looks nice when passing!Smile (I think there
is also a cliff top CL a bit further along towards Portreath.)

That is another nice one Brue, tad closer to Hayle, but on busier roads. Good access to beach though!Happy

Churchtown Farm doesn't look bad but is a full facility commercial site rather than a CL, as is nearby Gwithian Farm.

There are several CLs way down west but I have no experience of them.

There is a CL in Gwithian, TW, it is set back opposite Churchtown Farm, behind church. I just assumed it belonged to one of farms there. Other place as you say is a very busy commercial. Not sure if CL has hook upsHappy

Edit: no it doesn't have EHU. Nice site though, well tucked away, under Hayle if searching.

Cheers, TDA. I wasn't aware of the CL as well.

It's a very busy area in peak times.

Yes, it is. CL is set well back, hardly noticeable, but we decided that little area, and the beach was just too busy for us. Gorgeous location though, would be nice in quieter months.

My son and family (and lots of on-line reviews too) warmly recommend Poldown Camping near Helston - 11 miles from St Ives  - but it's a small, attractive, privately owned site with 15 touring pitches,  not a basic CL. It's not what the OP was asking for but may interest others going down that way.

Sounds very nice ET. We love this part of Cornwall, away from main tourist towns, but full of beautiful countryside and hidden beaches. We love the area around Fowey as well though. Lots of very nice places to stay. I shall be heading down there end of next
    week!
