e-go mover

I have an e-go mover , the Manuel , wind in to engage model, for some reason it has become very stiff to wind in, almost unusable ,also one side winds in more than the other , I have not looked underneath yet , been to wet .

Maybe needs realigning ?

Woud be grateful for some advice please.
