Why we need a PM Facility

On an earlier thread, I said that on very odd occasions, I wished that I could dislike a post.  The OP posted to say that it  was fine that I disliked him, whereupon I posted to  explain that it was the post I disliked, not the poster! However, I have no
way of knowing if he will ever read my clarification, which leaves me feeling very uneasy. With PM, I could have contacted him directly, and ensured that there was no misunderstanding. Ho hum.
